Rubén’s story

Growging up in Lanzarote, a place which breathes nature and sport, has born my attraction to natural movement from a very young age.

Over many years, I have had an interests in different disciplines and practices such as: Yoga, Martial Arts, Acroyoga, Contact Dance, Alexander Tecniques, ThaiMassage, Meditation y Selfmassage amongst other.

I have been lucky enough to have been a pupil and train with coaches and masters such as: Jozef Frucek and Linda Kapetanea (Fighting Monkey  Movement), Ido Portal (Movement Culture), Muditosan (Meditation and Conscious Touch), Young Lee (Hapkido and Onsaldori), Oliver Chamorro and Sharon (ThaiMassage and Acroyoga), Antonella Cusimano (Yoga Iyengar), Carlos and Fernando (Espacio propio.augenblick – Contact dance) and Clare Maxwell (Alexander Tecniques) among other.

I would like to name two important aspects that have given me the patience and flexibility needed to continue on my teaching path. Firstly the different injuries and limitations that I have personally come across which have helped me to connect with the physical, the emotional and the mental presence, and have shown me an essential side of my learning which is based on self-taught explorations and realizations. Secondly, the valuable experience of working with children and teens as a Yoga, Acroyoga and Swimming instructor reminding me how valuable it is to remember to keep playing in life.

As I mentioned before, every life experience, every adversity, every interaction with another human beings it has brought me to rediscover naturally, enthusiastically and optimistically something I have always known inside of myself: consciusness, movement and knowledge of the body is a passion, and it is my passion.
